GHRP-6

GH release with a big appetite spike, useful for hard gainers.

Emerging evidence

Overview

GHRP-6 is a ghrelin-mimetic growth hormone releasing peptide that produces meaningful GH release alongside a pronounced increase in appetite. Where ipamorelin triggers GH cleanly and GHRP-2 adds a moderate hunger bump, GHRP-6 sits at the far end of the hunger spectrum among GHRPs - it strongly stimulates appetite, which makes it particularly useful for people struggling to eat enough to support muscle gain. Its primary goals are muscle building and recovery. Gut health is noted as a secondary area of benefit, consistent with ghrelin's role in GI motility. It is generally not a good fit for people whose main goal is fat loss, because the appetite stimulation works against a caloric deficit. GHRP-6 is given as a subcutaneous injection of 100-300 mcg, one to three times daily, on an empty stomach. The empty-stomach requirement is the same as for other GHRPs - food and elevated insulin blunt the GH response. Courses typically run three to six months. The main practical caution is that pronounced hunger, particularly in the 15-30 minutes after injection, should be anticipated and planned for. It is not ideal if the goal is fat loss. Like all GH secretagogues, it is contraindicated in anyone with a cancer history and should not be combined with MK-677. Its evidence base is classified as emerging. GHRP-6 stacks well with CJC-1295 (no DAC). In the US it is available as a research or compounded preparation. Your licensed provider in the PepDepo network will review your specific situation at consult to determine whether GHRP-6 is the right tool, and will set the exact dose and protocol.

Questions

Who is GHRP-6 best suited for?

People who want to build muscle and have difficulty eating enough to support it. The strong appetite stimulus is a feature in that context, not a side effect to manage.

How strong is the hunger effect?

Pronounced - it's one of the defining characteristics of GHRP-6 compared to other GHRPs. Expect significant hunger in the window after injection.

How is GHRP-6 taken?

As a subcutaneous injection of 100-300 mcg, one to three times daily, on an empty stomach. Exact dose and timing are set at your PepDepo consult.

Can I use GHRP-6 if my goal is fat loss?

It's not the right tool for that. The pronounced hunger it stimulates makes maintaining a caloric deficit difficult. Fat-loss-focused goals are better served by other options.

Who should not use GHRP-6?

Anyone with a cancer history. GH-axis stimulation is contraindicated in that population.

What is the evidence base for GHRP-6?

Emerging. There is meaningful mechanistic and clinical data behind it, but it hasn't cleared the regulatory bar of the most established peptides.

Can GHRP-6 be combined with MK-677?

No. They should not be run together.
